Mumbai, Jan 18: Joining the viral “2026 is the new 2016” trend, actress and former Miss World Manushi Chhillar took a trip down memory lane by sharing her medical college report card from 2016 on social media.

The year 2016 marked a defining phase in Manushi’s life, as she simultaneously pursued her MBBS degree and prepared for the Miss India pageant after being spotted at AIIMS, New Delhi. Balancing academics with a budding modelling career, she was navigating two demanding paths at the same time.

Along with posting a few throwback photos from a decade ago, Manushi reflected on the milestones of that year in a detailed caption. She recalled filling out her Miss India entry form on a Saturday after college classes, landing her first major campaign with Bose, and starting her initial clinical posting in general surgery. Adding a touch of humour, she mentioned her struggles with biochemistry and her “one-time” decision to join Instagram for the pageant — a decision that turned into a decade-long digital journey.

Manushi’s 2016 efforts paved the way for remarkable success. In 2017, she won the Femina Miss India World title and went on to be crowned Miss World, becoming the sixth Indian to achieve the honour and the first since Priyanka Chopra in 2000.

Following her pageant success, Manushi transitioned into films, making her Bollywood debut in 2022 with the historical drama Samrat Prithviraj, where she played Sanyogita opposite Akshay Kumar. She later appeared in The Great Indian Family and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, with her most recent role in Maalik, alongside Rajkummar Rao.

The post resonated with fans, offering a glimpse into the formative years that shaped her journey from medical student to global beauty queen and actor.
