Mangaluru, Jan 4: Bajpe police have arrested two inter-state accused for allegedly attempting to sell ganja brought from Bihar to Mangaluru by train.
Acting on specific information, Bajpe police conducted a raid on January 3 near Shantigudde Cross within Bajpe police station limits and apprehended the accused while they were allegedly in possession of around 1 kg of ganja kept by the roadside for illegal sale.

The arrested have been identified as Sunil Kumar (40), son of Nepali Singh, a native of Mahaddipur, Mehdipur in Khagaria district of Bihar, presently residing at Krishnapura, Katipalla, Surathkal, and Brijesh Srivastava (42), son of Radheyshyam, a native of Bhaurahi, Chunar in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh, presently residing at Krishnapura, Katipalla, Surathkal.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted that they had purchased the narcotic substance in Bihar and transported it to Mangaluru by train to sell it to migrant labourers from North India.
Bajpe police have registered a case in Crime No 08/2026 under Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(a) of the NDPS Act and are conducting further investigation.
