Mangaluru: Annual Christmas charity show of St Agnes College ‘Navidad’ held

Mangaluru, Dec 23: Navidad, the annual Christmas charity show of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru was held on December 22 at St Agnes College.

The programme began with a prayer song by the college choir followed by the Carol Clash, the district-level carol singing competition. There were three categories for the carol singing competition: 3-10 years, 11-15 years and above 15 years which included colleges, choir groups and families.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Winners of category I: 3-10 years –

I Place: Jingle Tots

II Place: Twinkle voices

III Place: Christmas Echo

Winners of category II: 11-15 years –

I Place: Agnes Meldoy

II Place: Team Aloysian

III Place: Marjil Jinglebells  

Winners of category III: Above 15 years–

I Place: Agno Vibe Squad,

II Place: Harmonix

III Place: The Messiah’s Angels

Loy Saldanha, the founder of Elvis Musical, a certified music engineer, and the founder member of Band Charitra was the chief guest. Inaugurating the programme Loy Saldanha appreciated the college and students combined efforts to raise funds and helping a needy family to construct a house.

The principal in her message to the audience expressed her appreciation to all those who had contributed generously to the charity fund, which is for a noble cause, and also announced the beneficiary for the year 2025, Anusha, a single parent and a member of the non-teaching staff at St Agnes College.

The Carol Class competition, the dance medley’s  and a humorous Christmas play brought a smile on everyone’s face while conveying the message that Christmas is not about having everything done in perfection but is about giving.

The programme ended with a thundering finale by Band Charitra who spread Christmas cheer with their rocking music and melodious songs, certainly making everyone’s spirit bright in this Christmas season.  Students Diya Shankar, Sanvi and Agnus Prince compered the programme.
