Panaji, Dec 1: Over the weekend, Drishti Marine lifesavers conducted multiple daring rescues, saving sixteen beachgoers and visitors to Dudhsagar waterfalls from drowning, including five foreign nationals. The lifesavers also located a missing child and provided first aid in two separate incidents, including treating a jellyfish sting.

Key Rescues Across Beaches:

• Mandrem Beach: A Russian couple (41 and 38) and a 38-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh were pulled offshore by rip currents. Lifesavers Karan Tandel, Dattaguru Korgankar, and Suraj Kelushkar intervened using rescue boards and a jet ski, bringing all three safely ashore.

• Morjim Beach: A 37-year-old tourist from the UK was rescued from a rip current by Nutan Mote (rescue board) and Vikram Talakar (jet ski).
• Baga Beach: A 23-year-old tourist from Maharashtra was assisted back to shore by Sudhar Singh and Sujan Nagvekar.
• Candolim Beach: Lifesaver Krishna Shiddekar helped a 19-year-old tourist from Telangana stranded in the water using a rescue tube.
• Bogmalo Beach: An 11-year-old girl stung by a jellyfish was given immediate first aid and handed over to the 108 ambulance team.
• Velsao Beach: A 54-year-old woman from Zuarinagar was provided oxygen and medical assistance after falling in shallow water.
• Betalbatim Beach: Two Russian women (72 and 63) caught in a rip current were rescued by Mayur Lahane (jet ski) and Suraj Girap (rescue tube) despite language barriers.
• Benaulim Beach: A 29-year-old man from Hyderabad was dragged offshore; Miraj, assisted by nearby Drishti Marine teams, rescued him with a rescue tube.
• Colva Beach: A five-year-old boy wandering alone was safely reunited with his parents following identification protocols.
• Palolem Beach: A capsized kayak carrying a 25-year-old man and a six-year-old child was rescued by Parshuram Tari using a jet ski.
• Agonda Beach: A 27-year-old woman from Maharashtra caught in a rip current outside the safe zone was rescued by Datta Velip using a rescue board.
• Patnem Beach: Two tourists from Uttarakhand (25 and 28) were rescued from strong currents by Megraj Girap using a surfboard.
• Dudhsagar Waterfalls: A three-and-a-half-year-old girl from Kerala and a 30-year-old man from Hyderabad were rescued from deep water by Sangam Dushi and Sagar Dushi, respectively, after entering the water without life jackets.
