Parli, Nov 30: Former minister and NCP leader Dhananjay Munde has stirred a political debate with a bold remark made during a campaign rally for the Parli Municipal Council elections. Addressing supporters, Munde said that in times of difficulty, “people remember Dhananjay Munde even before God,” a statement that has since triggered widespread discussion across political circles.

Speaking at the rally, Munde highlighted the development works completed in Parli under his leadership. He said, “I never allow Parli to suffer or lag behind.” He informed that funds have been sought for railway works and that land transfer for the project will take place soon. He also assured that housing approvals would be granted within a month.

Munde further announced that a survey for 1,700 housing units under MHADA is underway, and that the town’s cement-concrete roads have largely been completed. He added that a Rs 65 crore sports complex will be developed through the Vidyavardhini institution.

Reflecting on the overwhelming support he received, Munde said, “Parli gave me so many votes that even the machine got tired of counting.” He added that the love shown by the people for his family is unforgettable.

He went on to say, “Whenever someone faces trouble, they remember Dhananjay Munde before approaching God. They call me and share their problems. I am fortunate, and my entire life will be dedicated to serving the people.”

Munde also expressed his desire to elevate Parli’s reputation at the national level. “The signs of victory are visible even before the election begins,” he said. He clarified that he has no regrets about becoming a minister and later stepping down, adding that those who defame Parli should be shown their place through the ballot.

“Anyone else in my position wouldn’t have survived. It is because of your blessings that I stand strong,” he said. Munde reaffirmed his commitment to making Parli known across the country once again.

He added that Parli’s roads have significantly improved, and emphasised that there is no caste- or religion-based politics in Beed. Urging people to support those who work sincerely, he said, “Together, we will raise Parli’s name once again. People will say Parli has risen to national prominence.”

Munde’s comments and promises have intensified the political atmosphere in Parli as election season heats up.
