Paithan, Nov 23: A shocking case of patricide has come to light in Kadethan village of Paithan taluk, where a man allegedly killed his father during a heated argument and buried the body inside their house to conceal the crime. The incident surfaced ten days later after a foul smell spread through the neighbourhood, prompting locals to alert the police.
The deceased has been identified as Kalyan Bapurao Kale (58), while the accused is his son Ram Kalyan Kale.

According to police sources, Kalyan Kale lived with his wife and younger son Ram, while the elder son was away for sugarcane cutting work. Ten days ago, Kalyan allegedly returned home drunk, leading to yet another quarrel between him and Ram — a frequent occurrence, as the father reportedly came home intoxicated often.
In a fit of anger, Ram allegedly assaulted his father brutally, causing his death. To ensure no one discovered the incident, he buried the body inside the house. Ram’s wife, who is reportedly mentally unstable, did not inform anyone.
However, the decomposing body began emitting a strong stench after ten days, raising suspicion among neighbours, who then alerted the authorities.
A team from the revenue department, police and forensic unit conducted a spot inspection and recovered the buried body. During questioning, Ram confessed to killing his father, stating that constant quarrels due to alcohol consumption pushed him to the extreme. The Pachod Police Station has registered a case, and the accused has been arrested.
Deceased had prior criminal record
Local residents revealed that Kalyan Kale had been convicted around fifteen years ago in a case involving sexual assault on a woman. He had served his sentence before returning to the village.
Police investigations are underway.
