Santa Cruz, Nov 19: A high-value burglary estimated at Rs 25 lac was carried out in broad daylight at a Santa Cruz residence after the occupants briefly stepped out to drop their children at school.

Police sources said the intruders seized the opportunity of an empty house, broke in, and executed the theft in barely 20 minutes before escaping. According to family members, the break-in took place during the morning hours, a time when they had left home only for a short while.

When they returned, they found the house ransacked and several valuables missing. The family stated that the burglars appeared to be complete strangers and that they had no prior suspicion of anyone.

Worried that media attention could alert or aid the culprits, the family requested that details remain private. However, sources confirmed that even after three days of investigation, the thieves have not been traced.
