Gujarat worker beaten to death by colleague in South Mumbai

Mumbai, Nov 18: A 39-year-old worker from Gujarat was allegedly beaten to death by his colleague at a private steel company in south Mumbai early Monday, police said.

The incident occurred between 1 am and 1.30 am at Sentec Coated Steels Pvt Ltd in Girgaon. The deceased was identified as Ramesh Hajaji Chaudhary, a resident of Banaskantha, Gujarat.

The accused, 22-year-old Suraj Sanjay Mandal, who lived and worked on the same premises, reportedly assaulted Chaudhary with a wooden stool and a fire extinguisher, resulting in his death on the spot. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, police said.

A case of murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered, and authorities are working to arrest the accused.
