Man beaten to death by cousin over mobile theft suspicion in Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai, Nov 7: In a shocking incident in Navi Mumbai, a 34-year-old man was beaten to death by his cousin and an aide on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone, police said on Friday.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning in a public toilet in the Turbhe area. The accused have been identified as Arjun Adagale (55) and Vidhan Mandal, who works at the same public toilet. A case has been registered under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to police, Adagale suspected his cousin, Sudhakar Patole, of stealing his mobile phone. “Adagale and his friend Mandal took the victim out of his house and to a public toilet, where they consumed alcohol. They then brutally assaulted Patole, killing him on the spot,” an officer from the Turbhe police station said.

After the crime, the accused fled the scene. The victim’s body was later found and sent for postmortem examination. Turbhe police have launched a manhunt and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the suspects’ movements.
