Udupi, Oct 24: Two days “Canara Retail Expo 2026” organised by Canara Bank circle office Manipal and Canara Bank regional office Udupi – 1 was inaugurated in MGM College Grounds on Saturday, October 24.
Yashpal Suvarna, MLA Udupi inaugurated the Retail Expo 2026. Addressing the gathering, he said “Canara Bank, born in our district is providing huge contributions for the nation’s economic growth. After the merger, Canara Bank stands in the 3rd place in the nation. Today all the banking facilities are available at their fingertips. From 2014 many developments have happened in the banking sector after Narendra Modi became the prime minister. Today, banking services are available at customers doorsteps. Canara Bank is providing people friendly service for the customers. Undivided Dakshina Kannada district is known to be the cradle of banking sector.”
Prasadraj Kanchan, businessman participated as the chief guest of the programme. Addressing the gathering he said “Canara bank is organising retail expo for the past 10 years and has given many incredible opportunities for the people of Udupi. We have good GDP; we are better than many other districts in terms of economy. Retail business, vehicle business is seeing a good growth. Rs 3 lac crores of retail business is expected in Coastal Karnataka. We have purchase oriented people. Every year business scenario will change. Public will do the purchase when they are given funds; Canara Bank is using this opportunity in good way. We are advancing in digitalisation in much higher level”.
H K Gangadhar, general manager, Canara Bank circle office Manipal said “Every year many new vendors join our expo every year. They are doing good business also through this expo. Today Canara Bank is one of the leading banks in the country. Canara Bank and former Syndicate Bank have grown in same locality and today also stands together. We know the people and people know Canara Bank. The bank stays in the market with a vision. We have on spot processing counters as well”.
The two-day Canara Retail Expo will feature automobile, housing, builders and solar providers from leading brands. The expo will offer free entry, along with special purchase offers, attractive discounts and assured gifts. Visitors will also have an opportunity to win prizes through a lucky draw. Leading vehicle brands, builders and house construction companies are participating in large numbers in the expo.
Customers intending to apply for loans are advised to carry their PAN card, Aadhaar card, income tax return documents for the last three years and salary slips for the last six months to facilitate the loan processing procedure.
Mahamaya Prasad Roy, deputy general manager of Canara Bank Regional Office 1 welcomed the gathering. Archana, regional manager, compered the programme and Kaushik Reddy of the Retail Assets Hub proposed the vote of thanks.
