Bengaluru, Nov 3: A Konkani film titled Nagna Sathya (meaning Naked Truth or Bitter Truth) was launched at Bannerghatta Cashew Factory in Bengaluru recently. The film explores the concept of Nyayanga, Shasakanga, and Karyanga — representing the three pillars of government: the judiciary, legislature, and executive.
The film is produced under the banner of Adithya Cine Creations. The producer is Kiranmayi R Kamath, and the director is Dr Ramesh Kamath — a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. So far, he has directed four Konkani films: Janamana (1980), Aa Vai Jaa Saa (2016), Apsaradhara (2019), and Anthyarambha (2024). Nagna Sathya is his fifth Konkani film. Dr Kamath continues to make Konkani films out of his deep love for his mother tongue.

Nagna Sathya is based on a real-life incident. The story revolves around a middle-class woman who is deceived in love and tormented by a man from an elite background. Despite seeking justice from the three pillars of the system, she fails to get it and dies after giving birth to a baby girl. The daughter, who later becomes a journalist, takes up her mother’s cause two decades later, investigates the case, exposes the culprits, and proves that journalism is indeed the ‘fourth pillar’ that can bring true justice to society.
Noted actor and director Suresh Heblikar and former MLC Mohan Kondajji were the guests of honour at the muhurtha function, which was attended by over 100 people. Ganesh Prabhu, owner of Hindustan Muktha Cashew Processing Unit, played the role of Lokayukta in the very first shot.
Prominent artistes such as multilingual star Gopinath Bhat, actress Adhya Nayak, Konkani Academy award winner Vitobha Bhandarkar, theatre artiste Meera Naimpally (of Tarpana fame), Anand Nagarkar, B V Ganesh Prabhu, Vishwanath Kini, Kum Greeshma Prabhu, Gopala Krishna Bhat, Krishna Nayak, Col Ashok Kini H (who served as right hand to Dr A P J Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan), blogger Pangal Nagendra, and Sheela Nayak, among others, are part of the cast.
The film’s technical crew includes award-winning cameraman P V R Swamy as DOP, editor Nagesh R handling editing, and music director Srisuresh, who also composed music for the Kannada national award-winning film Kandeelu. Sync sound recording is by Praveen Jogi, and art direction is by Chethan Kenkere.
Dr Kamath plans to release the movie in the first week of December.
