Udupi, Oct 28: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, in association with the Udupi District Private Aided and Unaided PU College Principals’ Association, organised a one-day workshop titled “Inspiring Educators – Transforming Futures”on October 28 witnessed enthusiastic participation from PU college principals and faculty members across the district.
The event was inaugurated by Sri Maruthi Malge, deputy director of Pre-University Education, Udupi. The initiative was lauded during his address, and the importance of empowering educators with AI and counselling tools for nurturing resilient and future-ready students was emphasised.


Dr Dayananda Pai, president of the Udupi District Private Aided and Unaided PU College Principals’ Association, remembered the help extended by SMVITM during Covid crisis and extended best wishes to the workshop.
Professor Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, CEO of SODE Group of Institutions, Udupi, highlighted recent achievements of SMVITM and importance of workshops in achieving academic transformation and student-centric innovation.
Dinesh Kodavoor, secretary of the Udupi District Private Aided and Unaided PU College Principals’ Association was present during the programme.
The programme commenced with an invocation prayer rendered by Sharanya, followed by a welcome address by Dr Nagaraj Bhat, in-charge principal and Dean Academics.
The event was compered by Akshatha Rao, assistant professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, who ensured smooth coordination throughout the sessions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Sudarshan Rao K, Dean of Quality Assurance, who acknowledged the contributions of all resource persons, dignitaries, and participants.
Three thematic sessions were conducted during the day. The first session, “Bridging Two Worlds – Teens & Teachers Together”, led by Lahari Vaidya and team, focused on effective counselling techniques to bridge generational gaps and foster empathetic educator-student relationships.
The second session, “Thriving Professional Fields – An Eye-opener”, was delivered by Dr Raghavendra K Holla, Faculty of Civil Engineering, MIT Manipal. He provided a comprehensive overview of emerging career paths and the importance of aligning student aspirations with evolving industry trends.
The final session, “AI in Education”, conducted by Arun Upadhyaya and team, offered a hands-on experience with AI-powered teaching tools, demonstrating their applications in lesson planning, assessment, and personalized learning.
