Doha, Oct 25: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) organized a heartfelt condolence meet to honor the memory of three eminent personalities - Padma Bhushan Dr S L Bhyrappa, legendary Kannada writer; Dr Yashwanth Saradeshpande, renowned dramatist; and Jagadish Chandra Pal (J Pal), a respected senior member of the Sangha. The solemn gathering was held at the Bangalore Hall, Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Doha.
The programme commenced with floral tributes to the portraits of the departed souls, followed by a minute of silence observed in their memory.
































In his address, the KSQ President reflected on the immense contributions of the three luminaries in their respective fields, emphasizing that embracing their values and ideals would be the truest way to honor their legacy.
Advisory chairman Mahesh Gowda, advisors V S Mannangi and H K Madhu, ICC former president Milan Arun, and members Muralidhar Malode, Dr Dore, and Anil Bhasagi shared personal memories and reflections. They highlighted Dr Bhyrappa’s profound literary influence, Dr Saradeshpande’s creative excellence in theatre, and J Pal’s selfless service to Karnataka Sangha Qatar. Speakers also fondly recalled Dr Bhyrappa’s visit to Qatar during the Qatar Kannada Samman Award ceremony and remembered Dr Saradeshpande’s multiple visits to the country to present his acclaimed dramatic works.
The event was well anchored by Kannada development secretary Bheemappa Khot, while logistics and environment secretary Shashidhar H B delivered the vote of thanks.
The programme received wholehearted support from KSQ management committee members, advisors, and volunteers. Notable attendees along with the above included advisors Arun Kumar and Dr Sanjay Kudari, Bunts Qatar president Naveen Shetty Iruvail, Community leader Asmath Ali, Vinoda Pal’s niece Greeshma and family, along with several KSQ members.
