Pune, Oct 24: A shocking crime came to light in Madanwadi village under Bhigwan police station limits in Indapur taluka, Pune, after the decomposed body of a pregnant woman was found under a bridge a few days ago. Police investigation has now revealed that the woman was allegedly murdered by her husband.

According to the police, 30-year-old Dipali Sudarshan Jadhav, a resident of Katphal, Baramati, was suspected by her husband of having an extramarital affair. On the morning of October 12, 2025, a domestic dispute escalated, and in a fit of rage, her husband, Sudarshan alias Raviraj Ranjit Jadhav (36), allegedly struck her on the head with a metal object, causing fatal injuries.

To conceal the crime, the accused wrapped his wife’s body in a blanket, placed it on his Jupiter motorcycle, and dumped it under a bridge near Madanwadi on the Bhigwan-Baramati road.

The decomposed body was discovered on October 22 by local police patil Nanasaheb Vanwe, prompting the Bhigwan police station and Pune Rural Crime Branch to launch a joint investigation. The skull was fractured, but the hand bore the name “Raviraj,” which helped authorities identify the victim. During the probe, inconsistencies were noticed in Sudarshan’s statements after he had earlier reported his wife missing on October 12 at Baramati police station. He ultimately confessed to the murder.

Sudarshan, alias Raviraj Ranjit Jadhav, was arrested and produced in court, which remanded him in police custody until October 31, 2025.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Special Inspector General of Police Sunil Phulari (Kolhapur range), with directions from Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Deputy Inspector General Ganesh Biradar, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Madhukar Bhatte. Officers involved include Pune Rural Crime Branch Inspector Avinash Shilimkar and Bhigwan police station SI Vinod Mahangade, among others, who were lauded for their exemplary work.
