Mangaluru teen Avniel Saveo D’Souza shines on international stage

Mangaluru, Oct 17: Avniel Saveo D’Souza, son of Oliver and Sangeetha Anil D’Souza from Attavar Babugudda, Mangalore, and a student of St Aloysius Degree College, has brought immense pride and glory to Mangalore, Karnataka, and India by securing a gold and a silver medal in the sub-junior 53 kg category (equipped and classic) at the Asian Bench Press Championship in Hong Kong.

Earlier this year, he had already brought honour to the nation by winning a bronze medal in the same category at the World Classic and Equipped Bench Press Championship in Drammen, Norway.

Guided by the expert mentorship of Satish Kumar at Balanjaneya Gymnasium and Vincent Prakash Carlo at Carlos Gym, Avniel’s achievements are a testament to his unwavering discipline, relentless perseverance, and indomitable spirit. His triumph brings immense joy and pride to his family, friends, and all near and dear ones, while inspiring young athletes across India to chase their dreams with passion and dedication.
