Kasaragod, Sept 24: In a bid to ease the surge in passenger traffic during the Dasara festivities and the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage season, South Western Railway has announced a series of 14 special express train services between SSS Hubballi and Kollam.
The dedicated service, Train No. 07313 (SSS Hubballi–Kollam Special Express), will operate every Sunday from September 28 to December 28. It will depart from SSS Hubballi at 3:15 pm and arrive in Kollam the following day at 12:55 pm.
The return service, Train No. 07314 (Kollam–SSS Hubballi Special Express), will run every Monday from September 29 to December 29, departing Kollam at 5 pm and reaching Hubballi at 6:30 p.m. the next day.
Each special train will comprise 22 coaches, including:

The trains will halt at the following major stations en route: Haveri, Davanagere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, SMVT Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarpet, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Karunagappalli, and Sasthamkotta.
The move comes as part of Indian Railways’ seasonal strategy to manage heavy festive and pilgrimage-related travel. The Kollam-bound service is expected to be especially beneficial for pilgrims heading to Sabarimala, while also offering added convenience to general passengers along the Karnataka–Kerala corridor.
Passengers are advised to make reservations in advance and comply with all railway guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe journey.
