Mangaluru, Sep 22: Alisha Santumayor and Anora Mendonca from Gantalkatte were crowned winner and runner-up, respectively, of 'Jigibigi Taram Season 2', bringing the much-anticipated competition to a thrilling conclusion. After months of intense speculation, evaluation, and nail-biting moments, Alisha Santumayor emerged as the champion, with Anora Mendonca closely trailing behind in a neck-and-neck contest.

The grand finale, held on Sunday, September 21, at the MCC Bank Founders Branch Hall, also saw Leona Olivera from Perampalli, Shaun Braden D’Souza from Omzoor, Lisha Rachel from Taccode, and Eyan Noah from Bendur join the ranks of proud finalists. In addition to the top honors, Tiara Rebello received the special jury recognition titled ‘Inspiration Beyond Competition’ for her exceptional sportsmanship throughout the contest.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank Ltd; Alexis Castelino, director of Daijiworld TV; Fr Denis D’Sa; along with judges Raina Sequeira and Zeena Pereira. Also present were Ronald Nazereth, director of HR at Daijiworld; Sanjay Rodrigues, show director of Jigibigi Taram; and Stany Bela, production director at Daijiworld, who collectively oversaw the award ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Anil Lobo lauded the contestants’ spirit and emphasized MCC Bank’s commitment to supporting talent shows such as Jigibigi Taram. “MCC Bank is always happy to be a patron of platforms like Jigibigi Taram, which nurture and showcase musical talent,” he said. “Over the past eleven months, more than one hundred budding singers have graced our premises, using this platform to shine. This is a proud moment for the entire MCC Bank management. I also extend my gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support, preparing their children to embrace both victory and defeat with equal grace. Daijiworld remains the only Konkani TV platform offering endless opportunities for talents to flourish in their respective fields, and MCC Bank is honoured to continue its association with Daijiworld Media for such impactful events.”

Fr Denis D’Sa, one of the judges, expressed the difficulty in scoring the young contestants, stating, “It was a wonderful experience being part of Jigibigi Season 2. Judging innocent kids is a tough job because, if given the choice, I would declare all participants winners. Here, defeat holds no meaning—each contestant excels in their own comfort zone. We were challenged to assess their talents beyond these zones. I thank both MCC Bank Ltd and Daijiworld for this wonderful opportunity and commend all participants for their enthusiastic support.”

Judges Raina Sequeira and Zeena Pereira also shared their insights on the show, praising the level of talent and dedication displayed by the contestants. During the event, semifinalists and MCC Bank directors were felicitated by the Daijiworld management in recognition of their contributions.

The evening’s proceedings were warmly welcomed by Sanjay Rodrigues, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Stany Bela. The event was expertly hosted by anchor Jenisha Jernis, who guided the audience through the exciting finale, which unfolded over two competitive rounds.

The journey of Jigibigi Season 2 began in November 2024 with auditions that attracted over 100 budding singing talents. The competition progressed through several challenging rounds, showcasing the remarkable skill and passion of the contestants, culminating in a memorable finale that celebrated the richness of Konkani music and culture. The show was anchored by Komal Jenifer throughout the season.
