BMW teases new G 310 RR; launch expected ahead of festive season

New Delhi, Sep 17: BMW Motorrad has teased its upcoming updated entry-level supersport, the G 310 RR, hinting at a launch ahead of the festive season. The teaser image reveals the rear section of the motorcycle with the “RR” moniker, sparking excitement among biking enthusiasts.

The G 310 RR, which remains BMW’s most affordable offering in India following the discontinuation of the G 310 R and G 310 GS, shares its underpinnings with the TVS Apache RR 310. With the Apache recently receiving an update, the German sibling too is expected to follow suit with fresh styling and new features.

As per sources, the motorcycle may sport revised design elements, including winglets for improved high-speed performance, along with new liveries in line with BMW’s global design language. Feature upgrades could include launch control, cornering drag torque control, Gen-2 Race computer, sequential turn signals, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Mechanically, the bike will continue with its 312 cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine. However, performance tweaks are expected to bring it closer to the Apache RR 310’s 37 hp and 29 Nm output, compared to the current 33 hp and 27 Nm figures of the G 310 RR.

Though the exact launch date is yet to be revealed, industry insiders believe BMW may time the release to capitalize on festive demand in the Indian market.
