Bantwal, Sept 16: The 32nd annual Shri Vishwakarma Puja Mahotsava was celebrated with great devotion and splendour at the Vishwakarma Sabha Bhavan in Ajekal, Bantwal. Organised under the aegis of the Vishwakarma Samaja Seva Sangha, Bantwal, the event brought together community members to honour tradition, service, and achievement.
The festivities commenced with sacred rituals led by renowned priest Ramesh Purohit of Bantwal, featuring the Sankalpa (vow), Kalasha Pratishthe (installation of the holy pot), Maha Puja, and concluded with the distribution of prasada.
Chief guest MLA Rajesh Naik applauded the Sangha’s efforts in recognising the community’s achievers. “Honouring those who contribute to society is truly commendable. I urge the Vishwakarma Sangha to continue its unwavering dedication to community service,” he said.





Former minister B Ramanath Rai, speaking as guest of honour, lauded the Vishwakarma community as “one of the finest societies worldwide. Though small in numbers, their progressive outlook and relentless work ethic have earned them great respect and recognition.”
P Upendra Acharya, president of SK Goldsmith Industrial Co-operative Society Ltd, urged unity within the community: “The world never forgets those who live for the welfare of others. It’s time to put aside differences and come together as one.”
Presiding over the event, Sudhakar Acharya, president of the Sangha, stressed, “When we work selflessly for our community, our names become immortal.”
The event honoured educational achievers, founding members, and dignitaries, acknowledging their invaluable contributions. Present on stage were Lokesh Acharya Punalakatte, honorary president of the Sabha Bhavan Building Committee, and Vishwanath Acharya, treasurer of the Sangha.
The proceedings included reports from key office-bearers — Yuvraj Acharya, religious secretary, welcomed the gathering; Vidya Ratnakar Acharya, president of Vishwa Jyothi Mahila Sangha, presented the women’s wing report; and Umesh Acharya, secretary, shared the Sangha’s annual report. The vote of thanks was delivered by Manoj Acharya Nanya.
The programme was ably anchored by Muralidhar Acharya, Prakash Acharya, Sandeep Acharya, and Sunil B.
The day concluded on a vibrant note with cultural performances by the Sangha members and the women’s committee, reflecting the community’s rich heritage and unity.
The 32nd Shri Vishwakarma Puja Mahotsava once again highlighted the spirit of devotion, social service, and cultural pride, reaffirming the Vishwakarma community’s significant role in Bantwal.
