Panaji, Sep 10: The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has approved the Goa Sand Art Festival (GSFA) to be held at Miramar Beach from November 14 to 30. The free-to-view festival will occupy approximately 15,000 sq ft, offering locals and tourists a chance to witness stunning sand art creations.

The festival director, founder of Sand Cult, had earlier submitted two proposals for approval—a two-week free-to-view festival and a six-month pay-to-view public exhibition. The GCZMA granted permission for the shorter festival, citing feasibility and environmental considerations.

The event will feature interactive workshops for artists, students, and enthusiasts, promoting creativity and community participation. A school engagement programme will run alongside, aimed at inspiring young minds while raising awareness about Goa’s sustainable development goals.

According to Sand Cult, the festival will not only diversify Goa’s tourism offerings but also provide an enriching artistic experience, support local employment, and strengthen the creative economy.
