Turkey, Sep 4: A newly delivered luxury yacht sank off Turkey’s northern coast on Tuesday, barely 15 minutes into its maiden voyage. The dramatic incident occurred near the Eregli district of Zonguldak, where the 85-foot vessel Dolce Vento had just been launched after arriving from Istanbul.

Video footage captured by onlookers showed the yacht sailing smoothly before it suddenly began tilting to one side and plunging nose-first into the Black Sea.

Onboard were the yacht’s owner, the captain, and two crew members. As the vessel went under, all four leapt into the sea and swam to shore, escaping unharmed.

Coast Guard units and port authorities swiftly moved in, cordoning off the area and ensuring no other vessels approached the sinking site.

Shipyard officials confirmed that the cause of the mishap remains unknown. A detailed technical investigation has been ordered to determine what led to the vessel’s failure within minutes of its first journey.
