Mangaluru, Sep 1: St Agnes College department of psychology forum, in collaboration with the Nature Club, organized a Sapling Distribution Day to mark the occasion of Vanamahotsava. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of trees and encourage students and staff to contribute to a greener, more sustainable environment.
As part of the event, saplings were distributed to students and faculty members across the campus. In an added gesture of enthusiasm, several participants also brought additional saplings, amplifying the outreach and ecological significance of the drive.

The event promoted key environmental messages—highlighting how tree plantation helps combat pollution, conserve biodiversity, and maintain ecological balance. It also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7, 13, and 15), focusing on clean energy, climate action, and life on land.
By linking the local initiative to global sustainability efforts, organizers emphasized how individual actions, like planting a tree, can contribute meaningfully to broader environmental goals.
The event concluded on a successful note, leaving a lasting impact on the campus community and inspiring many to adopt sustainable practices. Beyond celebrating Vanamahotsava, the programme served as a reminder that small acts of environmental responsibility can lead to lasting change.
