Gaya, Aug 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mega rally in Bihar’s Gayaji on Friday stirred political chatter after two Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLAs, Vibha Devi and Prakash Veer, were spotted on stage during the event.

Vibha Devi, MLA from Nawada and wife of former RJD legislator Raj Ballabh Yadav, along with Rajauli MLA Prakash Veer, were seated at the back of the stage as the Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on the RJD, accusing it of corruption.

The development triggered speculation of political crossovers, but the BJP clarified that all legislators, regardless of party affiliation, had been invited. “It depends on how people look at it. All MLAs, MLCs, MPs were invited for the inauguration of projects. Some chose to attend, others didn’t,” BJP MP Vivek Thakur said, stressing that it should not be seen as a political shift.

At the rally, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore, including the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Muzaffarpur and a sewerage treatment plant at Munger under the Namami Gange project. He also flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express between Gayaji and Delhi and the Buddhist Circuit train between Vaishali and Koderma.

The Prime Minister distributed symbolic keys to over 12,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). Targeting the Opposition, he accused the RJD and Congress of blocking bills aimed at removing ministers or prime ministers jailed for over 30 days. “Why should leaders remain in power even when imprisoned? The RJD is opposing because everyone knows about its corrupt practices,” PM Modi declared before the massive crowd.
