ISKCON celebrates three-day Krishna Janmashtami in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Aug 16: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has commenced a three-day celebration of Krishna Janmashtami in Bangladesh, filling temples with devotion and festivity.

Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari, General Secretary of ISKCON Bangladesh, said, “Tomorrow is the appearance day of Lord Krishna. Throughout the day, programs including kirtans will be held, followed by the evening bathing ceremony. Our three-day program will see large participation. The government has assured full security, and police have been involved to ensure a safe celebration.”

Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus extended greetings to the Hindu community, noting, “The birth anniversary of Lord Krishna is one of the main religious festivals. Lord Krishna preached justice, humanity, and peace to establish equality in society. Communal harmony has always been a hallmark of our culture, and through collective efforts, we can build a Bangladesh free from discrimination.”

Devotees thronged ISKCON’s central temple in Swamibagh, Dhaka, taking part in pujas, kirtans, and aartis as part of the vibrant celebrations.
