Bantwal: Burglary at Amttadi crematorium, property worth Rs 4 lac stolen

Bantwal, Aug 12: Thieves have stolen property worth around Rs 4 lac from the crematorium in Devinagar, Amttadi village, under the jurisdiction of Amttadi gram panchayat. The incident came to light on August 11.

The stolen items include a silicon chamber used for cremations, a brass water pot, an iron ladder, an iron gate, and other articles.

The theft was discovered when locals arrived at the crematorium on August 11 for the cremation of Ittappa Poojary, a resident of the area.

Amttadi grama panchayat president Vijay Kumar said that a complaint regarding the incident would be filed at the Bantwal Town Police Station.
