Puttur, Aug 10: The brother-in-law of a woman whose body was found in a stream at Kantakodi in Kedila village has reappeared after being missing for four days. He was spotted in the courtyard of his house on Sunday, August 10 morning.

On August 6, the body of Mamatha, wife of Ganapathi alias Ramanna Gowda of Valankumeri in Kedila, was found in a rainwater stream at Kantakodi. On the same day, Ramanna Gowda’s elder brother, Sundar alias Lokayya Gowda, went missing. Suspecting foul play in Mamatha’s death, Ramanna Gowda had filed a complaint with the police, alleging that Lokayya Gowda had murdered her.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched a search operation in the forests around Kedila. However, Lokayya Gowda remained untraceable until Sunday morning, when he appeared in front of his house. Family members detained him and questioned him regarding Mamatha’s death.

Police have been informed of his return and are reported to have reached the spot.
