Mangaluru: Apostolic Carmel Educational Society honours, felicitates retired staff

Mangaluru, Aug 9: In a spirit of gratitude and celebration, the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society gathered on August 9, at the Province Auditorium to honour and felicitate its retired staff members. The event was a beautiful acknowledgment of years of dedicated service, commitment, and unwavering devotion to the mission of education and formation.

The ceremony commenced with a serene prayer service led by the students of St Ann's Teachers Training Institute, followed by a warm welcome address by Sr Sudeepa AC, secretary of the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society. Each retired staff member was welcomed with a rose by Sr Maria Naveena AC, the provincial superior.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, teacher Clementine Salins shared words of gratitude, reflecting on her journey and the joy of being part of the Apostolic Carmel family. Her message struck a chord with everyone present, reminding them of the enduring impact of a teacher’s dedicated life.

In her touching message, the provincial superior conveyed deep gratitude to the retired faculty, praising their invaluable role in shaping generations of students and upholding the values of the Apostolic Carmel. She emphasised that the teachers being honored have "left footprints on the sands of life which will never be erased."

Before drawing the curtain on the event, Sr Preethi Crasta proposed the vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the day a special one. The event was graciously emceed by Srs Magdalene and Sharmila D’Souza. The programme concluded with a sumptuous fellowship meal.
