Beltangady, Aug 6: In a shocking incident, four YouTubers were assaulted by unidentified individuals in Dharmasthala on Wednesday, August 6, triggering tension in the area and leading to a brief police lathi charge.
The victims have been identified as Ajay Anchan, Abhishek, Vijay, and one more yet to be identified. The incident occurred near the popular pilgrimage centre where the group had arrived in a Bolero vehicle displaying Pro-Soujanya stickers and banners.














According to sources, the attackers not only assaulted the YouTubers but also completely damaged their Bolero vehicle. Stones were pelted at the vehicle, and the banner related to the Soujanya case was torn down by the mob.
Following the assault, the injured YouTubers were admitted to a private hospital in Ujire. As tensions escalated, a crowd began to gather at the spot, prompting the police to resort to a light lathi charge to disperse them.
Security has since been tightened in Dharmasthala to prevent any further untoward incidents. Police presence has been increased, and an investigation is underway to trace the attackers.
