Udupi, Aug 1: The Udupi traffic police have received public appreciation for voluntarily filling a large pothole on the service road of National Highway 66 at Ambalpady.

A massive pothole on the road had been causing severe inconvenience to motorists entering the city, posing a safety hazard to daily commuters.

Responding to the difficulties faced by road users, the traffic personnel on duty took it upon themselves to fill the pothole. In some instances, they were even seen lifting small vehicles that had become stuck.

The police used stones and gravel to fill the crater, ensuring smoother and safer movement of vehicles. Their initiative, despite being beyond their regular responsibilities, has drawn widespread praise. A video of their effort went viral on social media, further amplifying public appreciation for their proactive gesture.
