Mumbai, Aug 1: Marvel’s final release of the year, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, concluded its first week at the Indian box office with a total collection of Rs 26.35 crore. The film, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, saw its lowest single-day collection on Thursday, earning an estimated Rs 46 lakh.

The film had opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Day 1 and collected Rs 20.1 crore over its first weekend. However, weekday collections dipped sharply, with Monday earning Rs 1.66 crore and Tuesday Rs 1.9 crore. The decline continued through Wednesday and Thursday, marking a steady fall in footfall.

According to trade sources, the film’s performance has been affected by strong competition from domestic blockbusters like Saiyaara, which has crossed Rs 270 crore in two weeks, and Mahavatar Narsimha, which earned over Rs 45 crore in its first week.

The English version of Fantastic Four contributed Rs 18.65 crore, while the Hindi version earned Rs 6 crore. The remaining collection came from the Tamil and Telugu dubbed releases. The film now faces a challenging second weekend with the release of Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2, making its prospects of reaching the Rs 30 crore mark uncertain.
