Nuns' arrest: Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh to protest on Aug 4 against 'targeting of Christians'

Mangaluru, Jul 30: Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh , with support from the Mangalore Diocese Commission and various Christian organisations, will hold a public protest on Sunday, August 4, at 4 pm in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha, Mangaluru.

The protest is being organised to condemn the increasing incidents of violence and harassment against members of the Christian community across various parts of the country. A recent incident in Chhattisgarh, where two innocent Christians were arrested and remain in jail since July 25 on charges of forced religious conversion, has triggered widespread outrage. Catholic Sabha has pointed out that while the allegations are unfounded, such actions continue to target Christians and violate their rights.

In response, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh is calling for the immediate release of the innocent individuals and demands justice for the Christian community. The organisation has urged all 124 church units under the Mangalore Diocese to participate actively and show solidarity by gathering in large numbers.

Each unit has also been requested to send at least 10 volunteers to help with the protest arrangements.

The protest aims to serve as a strong message to the government against incidents of communal targeting and unjust arrests.
