Bengaluru, July 30: A woman suspected of supporting terror activities and extending backing to terrorist organisations was arrested in Bengaluru city by officials of Gujarat’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

The arrested woman has been identified as Shama Parveen, a native of Jharkhand.

Sources said she had been staying at her brother’s residence in Hebbal, Bengaluru, who works for a private company. It is reported that she was not employed anywhere and was mostly confined to her brother’s house.

After her arrest, the officials produced her before a magistrate in Bengaluru and subsequently obtained orders to transfer the case to Gujarat. She has since been taken there for further investigation.

Parveen is accused of posting content on social media in support of terrorism and allegedly encouraging extremist activity. She was reportedly linked to the banned organisation ULFA (United Liberation Front of Asom), according to sources.

Investigations are ongoing to determine whether any local individuals had established contact or links with the arrested suspect, officials said.

India is a secular country and everyone has the right to practice and propagate his/her religion. If one follows 9:5 , he is right religiously, but wrong legally. Article 25 from our constitution, in this case isn't clear. Can anyone explain?
