Udupi, July 27: A man behaving suspiciously was intercepted by a woman police officer on night patrol duty around 2:30 am on July 26.
During questioning, he allegedly used abusive language, attempted to assault the officer, and obstructed her from performing her official duties.
The accused has been identified as Sagar (25), a resident of Jumadinagar in Kodavoor village, Udupi taluk.
Manipal police promptly arrested him and produced him before the Udupi court, which has remanded him to judicial custody.
