Mumbai, Jul 27: High drama unfolded at the premiere of the Hindi crime thriller So Long Valley on Friday night, when actress-model Ruchi Gujjar stormed the event and allegedly slapped director-producer Karan Singh, accusing him of cheating her of Rs 23 lakh.

In a video that has since gone viral, Gujjar is seen arguing with the producers and striking one of them with her sandals. She arrived at the venue with a group of protestors, some of whom shouted slogans and held placards with the producers’ photos marked with red crosses. A few posters even depicted the filmmakers seated on donkeys.

Gujjar alleged that Karan Singh had taken Rs 23 lakh from her with a promise of launching a television project, which never materialised. She also claimed he assured her of a profit share and on-screen credit, but failed to deliver on either.

Following her complaint, the Mumbai Police registered an FIR against Singh at the Oshiwara police station under relevant sections related to cheating. “The complainant said the project never materialised and Singh didn’t return her money,” confirmed a police official.
