Hebri: Absconding accused in excise, lottery cases arrested after 12 years

Udupi, Jul 23: Police have arrested an accused who had been absconding for nearly 12 years in connection with two cases registered under the Karnataka Excise Act related to illicit liquor and lottery prohibition.

The accused, Satya alias Satish (42), a resident of Peruvai village in Bantwal taluk, was wanted in connection with Crime No. 40/2012 and Crime No. 87/2012 under Sections 32 and 34 of the Karnataka Excise Act, registered at the Excise and Lottery Prohibition Wing police station.

On Wednesday, July 23, officials from the CEN Crime Police Station traced and apprehended Satish in Hebri, Udupi district. He was produced before the jurisdictional court following his arrest.
