Mangaluru, Jul 22: The Mangaluru city police have issued a traffic advisory regarding road repair works scheduled on national highway-66 near Kulur old bridge. The repair work will take place from 8 pm on Tuesday, July 22 to 8 am on Thursday, July 25, between KIOCL Junction and Ayyappa Temple.
During this period, the Kulur new bridge will operate as a two-way road for vehicles traveling from Mangaluru towards Udupi. As a result, heavy traffic congestion is expected from Kodikal Cross to KIOCL Junction and Panambur Junction to KIOCL Junction.

All motorists and the general public traveling from Mangaluru towards Udupi via the new bridge near KIOCL Junction are requested to exercise caution, and avoid the route during peak hours by using the alternative routes listed below:
Alternate routes for motorists
All light vehicles and lorries traveling from Udupi towards Bengaluru or Mysuru should divert via Padubidri – Karkala – Moodbidri.
Light vehicles traveling from Udupi/Mulki towards Mangaluru city should turn left near Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi and proceed via Kinnigoli – Kateel – Bajpe – Maravoor – Kavoor.
Light vehicles traveling from Mangaluru city/Kottara Chowki towards Udupi should proceed via Kavoor – Maravoor – Bajpe – Kateel – Kinnigoli – Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi.
Lorries and light vehicles from B C Road, Bengaluru, or Mysuru heading towards Udupi should proceed via Bikarnakatte – Kulasekhar – Vamanjoor – Kaikamba – Bajpe – Kateel – Kinnigoli – Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi.
All gas tankers, diesel/petrol tankers, and other heavy vehicles going to or coming from MCF, ONGC, HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, Total Gas, BASF, Raftar, Aegis, etc are requested to avoid peak traffic hours and use Kulur new bridge during non-peak hours only.
The Mangaluru city police commissioner has urged the public and drivers to follow these traffic changes to ensure smooth movement and public safety during the repair period.
