Bantwal: One killed, two injured in mini tipper–car collision near Vittal

Bantwal, Jul 22: A tragic road accident occurred near Kelinja Junction in Veerakamba village, close to Vitla, resulting in the death of a car driver and serious injuries to his sister and a child.

The deceased has been identified as Aneesh Ananthadi (34), a resident of Ashwatthadi in Ananthadi. The accident took place on Monday when an Alto car, heading from Kalladka towards Vittal, was hit head-on by a mini tipper coming from the opposite direction.

All occupants of the car sustained severe injuries and were immediately rushed to a hospital by local residents. However, Aneesh, who was critically injured, succumbed to his injuries later in the night at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

It is learned that Aneesh had been married just two months ago and was on his way to drop off family members in Vittal when the unfortunate incident occurred.

A case has been registered at the Vittal police station, and investigations are ongoing.
