Kundapur, July 20: A daring robbery attempt at a cooperative society in Areshirur, Byndoor taluk, was foiled in the early hours of Friday, July 18, thanks to the alertness and punctuality of the staff of Sign In Security, a private company operating in Kundapur.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 2.15 am when a group of thieves arrived in a white car and broke into the Kollur Agricultural Cooperative Society using a gas cutter to force open a window.

However, the break-in was immediately detected by the staff at the Sign In Security’s Kundapur unit, who were monitoring the premises through live CCTV surveillance. The team swiftly alerted the bank manager, Byndoor sub-inspector, circle police inspector, and the Kundapur DySP.
Acting on the alert, police teams rushed to the spot. On noticing police approaching, the thieves, who were armed with deadly weapons, fled in their vehicle without managing to steal anything.
Police arrived shortly after and conducted a thorough inspection of the scene. A rapid blockade was set up in an attempt to trace the culprits, but the thieves managed to escape.
According to CCTV footage, two masked individuals were seen loitering near the society building with weapons in hand. They reportedly damaged one of the CCTV monitors during the attempted break-in.
A case has been registered at the Byndoor police station, and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the accused.
