Brahmavar: Six arrested as police bust gambling den in Achaladi village

Brahmavar, July 19: In a swift operation, the Kota Police, led by PSI Sudhaprabhu, raided an illegal gambling den near the residence of Raju Shetty in Garikematha, Achaladi village under Brahmavar Taluk. The raid was conducted following credible information about a group engaging in the card game Andar Bahar.

Upon arrival at the spot around 9 pm, the police found several individuals seated around a plastic table under electric lighting, actively participating in gambling. One individual was dealing cards and calling out the game moves while the others placed cash bets. The setup included a round table and plastic chairs arranged for the purpose.

Six individuals were arrested during the raid. The accused have been identified as Raju Shetty (71) from Garikematha, Shiriyar; Raju Shetty (57) from Mogebettu, Padumundu, Shiriyar; Ramananda Shetty (21) from Ranganakere, Barkur; Santosh (56) from near Akashvani, Waramballi; Rajeev Shetty (65) from Madhuvan, Achaladi; and Krishna (40) from Padumundu, Shiriyar.

The police seized a total of Rs 15,450 in cash, three cars, two scooters, a round table, six plastic chairs, and a pack of 52 playing cards used in the gambling activity.

A case has been registered at the Kota Police Station.
