Mangaluru: Engineering student dies of heart attack in Surathkal

Mangaluru, July 7: In a tragic incident, an engineering student collapsed and died due to a heart attack near Krishnapura Hillside in Surathkal on Monday, July 7 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Aftab (18), son of Asgar Ali, a resident of Hillside. He was pursuing a diploma in electrical engineering in Surathkal.

It is reported that the incident occurred around 12 noon while Aftab was on his way to take a bath at home when he suddenly collapsed due to a heart attack.

Aftab was the only son among the four children of Asgar Ali. His three sisters are married. His mother had passed away during the Covid pandemic, and since then, only the father and son lived together.

Ali, an auto-rickshaw driver, had been at home with his son until the afternoon. The tragedy reportedly occurred after he left for work around 1 pm.
