Mangaluru, July 7: A tragic incident unfolded at Farangipete, where a man allegedly stabbed a woman and later died by suicide on Monday, July 7, police said.
According to Bantwal rural police, Divya alias Deekshitha (26), a resident of Farangipete, and Sudheer (30), a resident of Kodman village, had been in a relationship for nearly eight years. However, in recent months, differences had arisen between the two.

Despite the strained relationship, Sudheer reportedly continued to call and follow Divya. On the morning of July 7, he approached Divya near Sujeer Malli in Farangipete and insisted on marrying her. A heated argument ensued, during which Sudheer allegedly stabbed Divya with a knife he had brought with him.
Divya managed to escape and collapsed while fleeing. Assuming she had died, Sudheer then went to her rented house and reportedly died by suicide by hanging himself.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal rural police station, and an investigation is underway to initiate further legal action.
