Mangaluru, Jul 4: As part of its much-anticipated silver jubilee celebrations, Daijiworld.com is all set to host its first major event — Konkani Porab, a spectacular musical concert that promises to showcase the richness and vibrancy of Konkani music. The grand concert will take place on Saturday, July 5 at 5:30 pm at the prestigious St Agnes Centenary Auditorium, Mangaluru.
‘Konkani Porab’ will be led by none other than Sanjay Rodrigues — one of the most celebrated and innovative music directors in the Konkani music industry. He will be joined by acclaimed music directors Roshan Crasta Bela and Melwyn Leema making the concert a collaboration of extraordinary talent. Accompanying them will be renowned instrumentalists such as Veekshith Udupi, Prajwal Fronteiro, Stalin D’Souza, and Sanjeeth Rodrigues.
The concert will also feature performances by some of the most sought-after voices in the Konkani music world. Singers including Zeena Pereira, Shilpa Cutinha, Joshal D’Souza, Loy Valentine, Paloma Rodrigues, Robin Sequeira, Melroy Furtado, Rynel Sequeira, Clerita Lobo, Jason Lobo, Ashwin Sequeira, and Annie Mascarenhas will render soulful and high-energy numbers that promise to captivate the audience. Supporting them on stage will be popular chorus teams GG100 and Wintertone Bantwal.
Adding to the excitement, the dance group Urban Groove will set the stage ablaze with their electrifying dance moves, adding a modern flair to the cultural celebration. Alexis Castelino, director Daijiworld is the co-ordinator of the show. Komal Jenifer D’Souza will host the event.
The show was designed by popular writer and director Stany Bela.
Founded by Walter Nandalike on January 14, 2001, originally as www.daijidubai.com, Daijiworld began with the aim of relaying news from the Konkan coast to the global diaspora. It was later rebranded as www.daijiworld.com and transformed into a full-fledged media house in 2007.
As of June 2025, Daijiworld.com has established itself as one of the leading digital media platforms in the region, attracting nearly 600,000 unique daily visitors from over 180 countries.
