Bengaluru, July 3: In a shocking turn of events, Kritika — daughter of murdered retired Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash — allegedly stormed into a beauty parlour near her Bengaluru residence, vandalised property and assaulted staff, leaving onlookers stunned. The incident occurred on Monday evening and has come to light only now.
Chaos at the parlour
Eyewitnesses say Kritika stood outside the “Nandini Beauty Parlour” for several minutes, staring intently at the shop owners. Alarmed by her behaviour, the proprietors approached her and politely asked if something was wrong. Instead of responding calmly, Kritika is said to have become aggressive and forced her way inside the establishment.

What followed was utter chaos. Kritika allegedly began throwing objects, smashing items within the parlour and leaving furniture and equipment in complete disarray. Items were reportedly shattered into pieces.
When staff attempted to intervene, matters escalated. Kritika allegedly physically assaulted the parlour owner, leaving them injured. The sudden outburst left customers and employees in shock, prompting local residents to immediately alert police.
By the time officers arrived, Kritika had returned home and was reportedly behaving as though nothing had happened.
Troubled past and isolation
Sources close to the family suggest Kritika has been in severe psychological distress since the brutal murder of her father, ex-DGP Om Prakash. Her mother is currently incarcerated, while her brother has been relocated, leaving Kritika to live alone at the family residence.
Mental health concerns raised
This disturbing episode has raised concerns about mental health support and intervention in the aftermath of personal and familial trauma. While the incident has caused alarm in the neighbourhood, many believe that Kritika’s actions are symptomatic of a deeper emotional and psychological crisis.
Authorities are now investigating the matter. Meanwhile, calls are growing for immediate psychiatric evaluation and care for Kritika, alongside justice for the assaulted staff and compensation for damages.
