Udupi, Jul 2: In a harmonious blend of nature and education, Silas PU College celebrated the tree planting festival ‘Vanamahotsava’ on July 2.

The college hall was transformed into a vibrant haven of environmental awareness and green fervour, embodying the college's mission to 'uphold environmental preservation'.

The chief guest of the programme, Maruthi, DDPU, Udupi district delivered an inspiring message urging students to emulate the remarkable actions of Saalumarada Thimmakka in overcoming life's obstacles.

The college principal Dr George emphasised the importance of such celebrations in preserving environmental equilibrium.

Students were enraptured by the short videos showcasing the life and achievements of Saalumarada Thimmakka.

A poignant moment came as the chief guest planted a sapling, symbolising the start of a new initiative towards environmental conservation. The event left a lasting impact on all those in attendance, igniting a renewed passion for sustainability and resilience.

This event not only enhanced the college’s green initiatives but also sensitised students to their critical role in environmental conservation.
