Udupi: Schools, PU & ITI colleges shut on June 17 amid heavy rain alert

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, June 16: The Udupi district administration has declared a holiday for all schools, Pre-University (PU) colleges, and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) on Tuesday, June 17, in view of continuous heavy rainfall and flood-like conditions in several low-lying and riverbank areas across the district.

Until now, holidays had been declared only for Anganwadi centres, primary, and high schools.

However, due to the worsening situation caused by relentless downpour, the administration has extended the closure to include PU and ITI colleges.

All degree, postgraduate, and diploma colleges will continue to function as usual.

Authorities have confirmed that the PU supplementary examinations will proceed as scheduled.
