Complete plastic ban in Muzrai temples across K'taka from Aug 15: Min Ramalinga Reddy

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jun 9: Muzrai minister Ramalinga Reddy on Sunday announced that the use of all types of plastic, including water bottles, will be completely banned in temples under the jurisdiction of the Muzrai department across the state from August 15.

Speaking to the media after a review meeting of the Muzrai department held at Vikas Soudha, the minister said that efforts are being made to make all temples plastic-free from Independence Day onwards. "Under no circumstances should plastic be used in these temples," he stated.

To ensure a smooth transition, a two-month period has been given to implement the order. He clarified that plastic materials already procured may be used during this time, but from August 15 onward, their use within temple premises will be strictly prohibited.
