Shiv Sena protests Turkish firm's role at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai, May 12: The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena on Monday staged a protest demanding the cancellation of a Turkish company's contract at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, alleging Turkey’s support for Pakistan.

The demonstration was spearheaded by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel, who accused the Turkish firm of indirectly aiding Pakistan. "Turkey is helping Pakistan. How can we allow their companies to earn here? They are earning here and helping Pakistan. This will not happen," Patel stated during the protest.

He further said that the party has submitted a complaint to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and issued a 10-day ultimatum. “If nothing happens, we will organise a morcha of over 10,000 people at the Mumbai airport,” he warned.

Patel asserted that the Shiv Sena will actively oppose the presence of any Turkish firm in the state. “We will identify such companies and ask them to leave. No Turkish company will be allowed to get contracts in Maharashtra,” he said.
