Bahrain, May 7: The island nation of Bahrain witnessed a spectacular display of Mogaveera cultural pride as the non-resident Mogaveera community came together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mogaveers Bahrain in a grand and meaningful manner.
Held at the Sheraton Hotel’s convention hall, the event drew a packed audience and featured elaborate cultural performances, recognition of achievers, and a strong call for community unity and development.






















































Renowned Kannada cultural figure Nadoja Dr G Shankar, who was the chief guest, emphasized the power of unity for the upliftment of the community. “Only when all community members stand united can we achieve progress. I'm happy to witness Mogaveers Bahrain completing 20 successful years of social work. Under the leadership of President Shilpa Shamit Kundar, the organisation is doing an excellent job. My full support and encouragement will always be with Mogaveers Bahrain,” he said.
Dr G Shankar, who visited the island for the first time, was honoured with the title ‘Mogaveera Hridaya Samrat’ for his immense contributions and inspiring presence. He also released a commemorative souvenir titled ‘Kadala Siri’, which captures the journey, traditions, and achievements of the Mogaveera community over the past two decades.
Indian ambassador to Bahrain Vinod K Jacob, who was also felicitated on the occasion, lauded the organisation’s efforts and said, “Cultural events like these strengthen our bonds and reflect the vibrant spirit of our community. Congratulations to Mogaveers Bahrain for their two-decade milestone.”
The event began with a grand ceremonial welcome for dignitaries with traditional instruments and a procession to the stage. A ceremonial lamp was lit jointly by all dignitaries to formally inaugurate the event.
Among the other distinguished guests on the dais were Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister, government of Karnataka, Jay C Kotian, president of Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, Prasad Raj Kanchan, MD of Kanchan Automobiles, entrepreneurs Santosh Kodikal and Mohan Bengre, Sandeep Putran, president of Maruti Jan Seva Sangha and Maruti Yuvaka Mandala, Ullal, Varadaraj Banger, president of Mangalore Mechanized Fishermen’s Primary Co-operative Society, Ravi Karkera, founder of Mangalore Association of Saudi Arabia, Subhashchandra, CFO of Diyar Al Muharraq, Amarnath Rai, President of Kannada Sangha, and Vinod Shreyan, Vice-President of Mogaveers Bahrain.
The evening included a special segment to honour achievers within the community. Haji Abdul Razak, president of South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association, and Shankar Jattana were recognised for decades of service to society in Bahrain. Distinguished Mogaveera achievers from India, Eshwar Malpe and Kumari Sindhoor, were specially honoured for their contributions.
General secretary Suman Suvarna and cultural secretary Sandeep Mendon introduced the achievers and their contributions.
A colourful cultural programme followed, featuring mesmerizing performances by Mogaveera artists from the island. Renowned singer Supreet Safalyag captivated the audience with his melodious voice, while popular anchor Madhuraj added charm to the proceedings with his engaging presentation.
Leaders and office-bearers of Mogaveera associations from various Gulf countries, achievers from India, and representatives of several local organisations graced the event and extended their best wishes.
President Shilpa Shamit Kundar expressed heartfelt gratitude to all supporters and well-wishers for their encouragement and cooperation throughout the organisation’s journey.
