IDF launches strategic strikes in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen targeting Hezbollah and Houthi networks

Tel Aviv, May 6: In a significant escalation, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Monday launched targeted airstrikes across Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, aiming at what it described as “terror infrastructure” operated by Hezbollah and the Houthi militia. The IDF said these operations were necessary to neutralize evolving threats against the State of Israel.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the IDF confirmed that it had hit strategic weapons production and storage facilities used by Hezbollah in Lebanon’s Beqaa region. "The IDF struck terror infrastructure sites within a Hezbollah strategic weapons production and storage facility in the Beqaa area in Lebanon, a short while ago," it stated.

The military further noted that Hezbollah was attempting to re-establish its operational presence in these zones, including infrastructure in Srifa. The IDF termed such actions a “blatant violation” of the previous understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

Vowing to act with full force, the Israeli Defence Forces said, “We will continue to remove any threat to the State of Israel and prevent any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild its terror capabilities.”

In a related development, the Israeli Air Force conducted precision strikes on Houthi targets along Yemen’s coastline. These included locations in the strategic port city of Hudaydah, believed to be a critical logistical hub for Iranian-supplied weapons to the Houthis.

"The strike was in response to repeated missile and UAV attacks launched by the Houthis against Israeli civilians," said the IDF in its official post. It named the Bajil Concrete Plant as one of the key sites hit — a facility suspected of being used for constructing underground tunnels and storing terrorist infrastructure.

The IDF emphasized that measures were taken to avoid damage to civilian vessels at the port and added, "The Houthi regime, operating under Iranian direction and funding, aims to target Israel and its allies, undermine regional stability, and disrupt global maritime freedom."

As tensions remain high in the region, Israel has asserted its resolve to act preemptively and decisively, declaring, "The IDF is determined to continue operating, at any distance, against all threats posed to the State of Israel."
