Case filed against Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja for alleged communal hate speech

Beltangady, May 5: A case has been filed against Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja for allegedly delivering a defamatory and communally provocative hate speech against Muslims of the village during a religious gathering held at the Bhramakalashotsava event at Sri Gopalakrishna Temple in Tekkaru, Bhatrabailu.

The complaint was lodged at Uppinangady police station by local Muslim leader S M S Ibrahim Musliyar.

Following this, the police examined video footage of the MLA’s speech and registered a case against him.

    Mr harish poonja, if you do a good job by helping the others, than you will be rewarded, instead of this, if you start giving speeches which may affect other religion is a not good sign of a MLA, first of all, you know what are all going on, we are all well known that, we live with ahimsa, but some of the people who does not know their requirements of living peaceful life with respect their religion, you are an elected MLA and you have to defend every indian citizens who are all coming within your juridiction . hope you understand what i wanted to say,
